$102 million can buy a lot of strikeouts!

Dodgers pitching ace Trevor Bauer threw 11 of them last night in just six innings in a thrilling 2-1 win over the San Francisco Giants.

It was Bauer’s first career start again the arch rivals from northern California.

Bauer (5-2) held the Giants to just two hits over 6 1/3 innings and threw a season-high 126 pitches.

“He had a fastball that really carried through the zone.  And he attacked.  He attacked the strike zone,” Giants managers Gabe Kapler told reporters after the game.

“He was looking to go deep into that game.  I think that was probably that was their plan. What I think was most impressive as the game went on is his fastball kind of picked up in velocity… We just weren’t able to get the big hit. They just played better baseball than us today.”

Bauer walked off the field to a chorus of boos from the hometown fans.

It was Cy Young Award winner’s first taste of the Dodgers-Giants rivalry after signing a three year deal with the team.

The Dodgers have won five in a row and nine of their last 10 games.

Walker Buehler will get the start when they return to Oracle Park Saturday afternoon at 4:15 PM
