Lincoln Middle School is a public middle school located in the northern area of Santa Monica. It is one of three middle schools in the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District. For the school year 2025-26, Lincoln Middle School had an enrollment of 922 students in grades six to eight. Approximately 53 percent identified as white, 20 percent as hispanic, eight percent as Asian and six percent as African American.
The student population is made up of 50% female students and 49% male students. The school enrolls 25 percent economically disadvantaged students. There are 44 equivalent full-time teachers and 2 full-time school counselors.
In 2026 US News & World Report ranked Lincoln Middle School #148 out of 3100 public middle schools in California.
The school offers a variety of elective clubs and activities including Associated Student Body (ASB), Student Television (STV) and the very popular LMS Theatre program which produces a yearly musical for the community.
Lincoln Middle School — originally Lincoln Junior High School — is a long‑standing neighborhood school. Most of its students previously attended Franklin Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary or McKinley Elementary.
