After four weeks of play, Santa Monica teams still look strong, while Palisades gets its groove back.
PALISADES DOLPHINS 56 @ BRENTWOOD EAGLES 50
In a midnight marathon for the ages, the Palisades Dolphins finally cracked the win column Thursday night, surviving a 56-50 four-overtime blockbuster against the Brentwood Eagles. The 106-point wild ride featured six lead changes in regulation alone. Palisades QB Robert Holohan III was brilliant, tossing four touchdown passes—including two to star playmaker Malachi Ross and a clutch 40-yarder to Jesse Wolfson. Brentwood refused to go away, riding a pair of rushing scores from JJ Lublin and an electrifying 80-yard kickoff return TD by Kruz Jackson.
After a missed Palisades field goal sent the game to OT tied 31-31, Dolphins running back LJ Stephens took over, pounding in three overtime touchdowns. A blocked Brentwood extra point in double OT kept Palisades alive, and both squads traded failed two-point conversions in the third extra frame. Finally, in the fourth overtime, Stephens punched in a 5-yard score to give Palisades a 56-50 edge. On fourth-and-goal from the 6, Ross stepped up again, picking off Brentwood’s desperate end-zone pass to seal the legendary victory.

ST. MONICA MARINERS 24 @ LAWNDALE 15
The St. Monica Mariners pulled off a gritty 24-15 road victory Friday night over the Lawndale Cardinals.
Star quarterback and New Mexico commit Bradley Cassier was a man possessed in the first half, putting on an absolute clinic. Cassier dialed up two touchdown passes to target Christopher Barnes—a 40-yard bomb in the first quarter and a crisp 10-yard strike in the second—before dropping a 25-yard dime to Aaron Minter. Throw in a two-point rush by Jade Mayes and a defensive safety, and the Mariners cruised into the locker room with a commanding 24-0 cushion.
Lawndale mounted a second-half rally to cut the margin to nine, but St. Monica’s defense held firm when it mattered most, forcing a late turnover on downs to lock up the win and push their record to 3-1.

SAMOHI VIKINGS 22 @ NORTE VISTA BRAVES 15
It was the ultimate comeback.
Gryffin Glowacki and the Santa Monica Vikings brought the drama to Riverside on Friday night, pulling off a heartstopping 22-15 come-from-behind victory over the Norte Vista Braves.
After the home team struck first, Glowacki launched a 50-yard rainbow to Ryan Blake to grab a quick 7-6 lead. Saul Buendia added a 3-yard touchdown plunge in the second quarter, but the Braves answered with a long score of their own to keep it a tight 14-12 game at halftime.
Following a defensive third quarter featuring an interception by Samohi’s Tyson Capehart, Norte Vista squeezed ahead 15-14 on a fourth-quarter field goal.
With the clock ticking, Glowacki went into hero mode. He uncorked a massive pass to Chandler Paysinger to push Samohi deep into the red zone, setting up Joshua Fernandez for the go-ahead 3-yard touchdown. Glowacki then hit Paysinger again for a two-point conversion, and Jacob Feldman sealed the road win with a late interception.
