The Ocean Park Association (OPA) is a non-profit, volunteer neighborhood group serving residents in the southern part of Santa Monica. The group’s mission is to protect, conserve, and enhance the quality of life and character of its community.

Who it serves

The Ocean Park Association represents approximately 2000 families and 7000 residents.  While neighborhood groups advocate for the general population of Santa Monica, OPA’s primary focus is on the community bordered by Ocean Park Boulevard (south), Pico Boulevard (north), Pacific Coast Highway (west) and Lincoln Boulevard (east).

Membership

The association is all volunteer-run, and while it welcomes formal members, it does not function like a traditional dues-based club with a rigid membership count. Memberships are available at multiple levels: Household ($30), Individual ($20), Senior ($10).  Business memberships are also available.  Registration is available online.

Meetings

The Ocean Park Association meets on the second Tuesday of each month.  Meetings are held at the Ocean Park Library (2602 Main Street) to discuss local issues, and weigh in on decisions that affect the community.  Meetings are open to the public and create a forum for conversation around land use, development, traffic, parking, safety, public health, and other neighborhood concerns.  Local officials frequently attend meetings to connect with residents.

Mission

The organization states it aims to serve the Ocean Park Community by fostering civic engagement, building community, connecting residents and advocating for quality of life. “OPA does not take policy positions or endorse candidates or ballot measures,” it says.

Board Members

Board members for 2026 include:  Robbie Leer (President), Sean Besser (Vice President), Tony Diamond (Vice President), Patty Tann (Treasurer), Andrew Lee (Secretary)

Events

The Ocean Park Association is active in the Santa Monica community and frequently sponsors public events around the city including Summer Solstice, Make Music Los Angeles and Santa Monica Fourth of July Parade.
