9 to 5 key art
Performances are Friday - Sunday from May 9 - June 7

9 to 5, the hit stage production featuring music and lyrics of Dolly Parton, opens Saturday, May 9 at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre in Santa Monica.  Tickets are available for all performances.

It’s a story of friendship and revenge as three female office workers turn the tables on their egotistical, bigoted boss.  Pushed to their boiling point, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – taking control of the company that had always kept them down.

9 to 5 is based on the hit 1980 movie of the same name starring Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.  Performances run through June 7 with showtimes Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

The Morgan-Wixson is currently celebrating its 80th season.  It began in 1946 as the Santa Monica Theatre Guild, operating out of a local living room.  In 1963 a group of members helped build what is now its current home on Pico Boulevard.

Early members included James Dean, Harvey Korman (The Carol Burnett Show), Glenn Ford, Marion Ross (Happy Days), and Anne B. Davis (The Brady Bunch).

Upcoming productions at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre include Shrek (June 27 – July 26) and Into the Woods (September 26 – October 18).  The youth ensemble program (Y.E.S.) will present You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (May 16 – May 31).
