Located in the heart of Hollywood, the Dolby Theatre is one of Los Angeles’ most recognizable entertainment venues and the longtime home of the Academy Awards. Opened in 2001, the 3,400-seat theatre was designed for major live productions, and has been home to America’s Got Talent
The venue is also noted for its European opera house inspiration and state-of-the-art audio/visual setup, which is part of why it became such a premium destination for broadcasts and live productions.

- The theatre opened on November 9, 2001 as the Kodak Theatre.

Parking & Transportation
Parking for the Dolby Theatre is located at the Ovation Hollywood structure, with entrances on Highland Avenue and Orange Drive. The garage is open 24 hours a day, and the theatre also is easily reached by Metro via the Hollywood/Highland station.
- Self-parking entrances are on Highland Avenue and Orange Drive.
- The posted daily maximum is $20, with hourly parking listed at $2 every 20 minutes or $6 per hour.
- Dolby Theatre does not validate parking.
- Metro riders can use the Hollywood/Highland station and walk to the theatre entrance.
Know Before You Go
The theatre typically opens to the public about one hour before each performance. Guests are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes early because traffic in Hollywood can be heavy. Outside food and beverages are not allowed. Concessions are available for most public events.
