Santa Monica has been named one of the 10 best beach cities in America.
The list compiled by wallethub.com compared 191 cities using 62 different metrics, including affordability, weather, safety and quality of life.
Santa Monica ranked 10th overall, barely beating out Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Other southern California cities making the cut include: Laguna Beach (2), Newport Beach (4), Santa Barbara (15), Hermosa Beach (21) and Redondo Beach (31).
The most desirable beach community, according to the site, is Naples, Florida.
Santa Monica ranked 123rd overall for affordability, 38th for weather and 72nd for crime.
It also was rated 3rd overall for quality of life and tied for first for having the most coffee shops per capita.
