A memorial service was held Tuesday in honor of Bob Rosenbloom, the longtime owner of Bob’s Market on Ocean Park Avenue.
Rosenbloom, 91, battled and recovered from COVID-19 in recent years. He passed away on Friday, April 5.
Friends, employees and family members gathered at the Hillside Memorial Park to celebrate Rosenbloom’s legacy, according to the Daily Press. Bob’s Market, located on the corner of 17th Street, closed early for the occasion — a first in its 45 year history.
“He believed in the community,” Rosenberg’s niece, Sue Moss, told the paper. “We’re here for the customers, we’re here for the surrounding neighborhood, we’re here for that. The customer always comes first. Never closed one day at all.”
