Mysa, the family owned Mediterranean eatery in downtown Santa Monica, has quietly shut down operations.

A note taped to the door at 606 Broadway confirmed the news earlier this week.

“With heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened to share that Mysa Mediterranean is closing its doors,” owners Freddie and Breanna, a father-daughter team shared.  “The restaurant has meant so much more to us than simply a place to serve food.  It has been a place where we’ve had to privilege of meeting and serving many wonderful people in our community.”

Mysa was only open for one year but became a fast favorite for foodies seeking authentic, wholesome, and generous Halal Middle Eastern and Mediterranean plates.

Sadly, it was unable to develop a large enough following, despite aggressive promotion on social media.

The location was previously occupied by Crimson, another Mediterranean eatery.

In recent weeks, owners made a last ditch effort to sell the business but were unable to find a buyer.
