A registered sex offender has been charged with molesting two additional women in separate attacks.
Santa Monica Police collared 26 year-old Jarvis Mathias Newman (also known as Marquis Perkings) on September 15, according to information just verified to The Sun.

Newman is charged with one count of assault to commit rape and one count of sexual battery.
Per SMPD:
On September 12, 2021, Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) Officers met with a victim who reported that a couple days prior, she was asleep in the 1700- 1800 block of the beach when she was awoken by a male that was touching her vaginal area over her clothes. The victim screamed and the suspect walked away. The victim provided police with a description of the suspect. She noted he had a distinctive gap in his front teeth.
On September 15, 2021 SMPD Officers were dispatched to the area of Ocean and Colorado to investigate an assault. Officers met with a victim who told them, on that date at about 4:30 AM, she was asleep in her tent at around the 1200 block of the beach, when a male woke her up and began to make small talk. At one point the male attempted to shift their conversation to be sexual in nature. The male then attempted to grab the female around the neck and take off her clothes. The victim screamed and was able to fight the male off her before he fled.
Armed with a detailed description from the second victim, SMPD officers identified and eventually captured Newman in the area of 4th Street and Broadway.
