Tyra Banks is officially an ice cream-preneur.
The supermodel and host of Dancing with the Stars, has opened her first frozen treat shop right here is Santa Monica.
It’s called…wait for it… SMiZE Cream.
(SMiZE is term she coined as host of America’s Next Top Model. It means to smile with your eyes.)
Fans got their first taste of her custard-like creations during a Friday afternoon opening at the Santa Monica Place mall.
“Bite after bite, taste test after taste test, the nationwide launch of SMiZE Cream is by far my most delicious, chunk-a-licious accomplishment,” she gushed in a press release.
“Ever since I was a little girl, my mama and I have been obsessed with the creamy, crunchy, ooey-gooey comfort and delight of ice cream.”
Available flavors include: The Best Vanilla I Ever Had, Strawberry BirthYAY! Cake, Purple Cookie Mon-STAR & Me (purple sweet cream ice cream with Oreo cookies) and Chocolate Barbecue (smoked chocolate ice cream with brownies and roasted almonds).
Can’t make it to the beach? Most products are available to ship nationwide.
This is not Banks’ first venture in Santa Monica.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fashionista had announced plans to open a 21,000 square-foot “theme park” called Modelland at the same shopping center.
It will combine “the glamour of ‘America’s Next Top Model,’ the whimsy of Willy Wonka and the magic of Disneyland,” according to a 2019 release.
