Brentwood Has Gone Bananas—in the very best way!
Gone Bananas Bread, opened in 2025 and tucked just around the corner from the Brentwood Country Mart, is a boutique bake shop that stands as a monument to or favorite yellow fruit snacks.
Like many of us, interior designer Estee Stanley found refuge in her kitchen during the COVID-19 lockdown. She started perfecting banana bread recipes and eventually turned her passion into a full-blown business with partner Leah Smith, a wardrobe stylist. The result? A female-founded brand with serious banana love.
What makes Gone Bananas Bread stand out is that it’s not trying to be a whole bunch of things at once. It just sticks to one thing and does it well — and even donates a portion of all profits to charity!
The menu includes variations such as Big Banana, OG Chocolate Chip, Bluenana, Cinnabanana, La Bee-nana Bread, and Cannabanana—plus a variety of cakes, puddings, ice cream, pastries, and heart-shaped specials.
The place ain’t cheap (about $55 for one heart-shaped loaf), but as one reviewer noted: “You get what you pay for — (the bread is) moist, warm and delicious.”
Gone Bananas Bread operates a second location at the Original Farmers Market at Third & Fairfax.
