Uncle Ben’s to the rescue? Not so fast!
Apple is warning its users not to cover iPhones in rice after exposure to water. The world’s largest smartphone maker debunked the popular internet hack this week in a support document first brought to light by MacWorld.
Apple warns that placing your device in a bag of fluffy grains could “allow small particles of rice to damage your iPhone.” The company offers alternative options including simply tapping the device against your hand to remove excess water.
