An upstate New York dad is under fire from members of his community for threatening to sell the Playstation 5 he purchased as a Christmas gift for his son.
Russell Timothy of Utica posted the much sought-after item in a Facebook garage sale along with a message depicting his 4 year-old boy as “ungrateful.”
This was supposed to be my sons big Christmas present but he refuses to do his chores. I’ve asked him for two days now to go out and shovel our walkway and half of driveway. All he does is whine and throw a fit. So I told him that if it continues he wasn’t having any presents this year. Guess what? It continued. I’m going to show him this post on Christmas morning and hopefully that will drive the point home. What an ungrateful 4 year old!
Timothy said he would take “any reasonable offer” for the gaming set which has been fetching up to $1000 in recent weeks.
Neighbors were incensed by the post, with many leaving harsh comments.
“Go out and shovel your own driveway ya lazy fuck!!!” – Justin Lynch
“You don’t force a 4 year old yo do chores. Not old enough. Friggin pathetic” – Alicia Bellinger
“You’re a horrible parent. He’s 4” – Tammy Beach
Still others saw the post as an opportunity to finish up their holiday shopping.
“Either guy is an asshole or a great salesman,” wrote commenter For Morgia. “If this is still up by xmas eve someone gonna pay 2500 for it.”
While it is unknown if a sale was made, Timothy eventually confirmed the story about his boy was a joke.
