Off the Charts dispensary Santa Monica
A grand opening celebration is planned in late November or early December.

Welcome to Cannabis Alley.

Off the Charts — Santa Monica’s newest pot shop — quietly opened for business this morning at 2415 Wilshire Blvd. It’s now the third recreational dispensary on the strip.

“Our team is friendly, the shelves are full, and if someone finds a better price, we’ll beat it,” founder and CEO Norman Yousif said in a company announcement Thursday.

But so far, the shelves haven’t quite caught up with the hype.

When The Sun stopped by Friday morning, we found mostly bare shelves, one employee and a security guard.

“This is a very soft opening,” manager Jazlyn Marquez explained.

Gummies and other prepackaged products dotted the glass shelving lining the brightly lit, roughly 800-square-foot storefront. The rest are still being filled with merchandise.

Marquez said a grand opening celebration is about a month away, though no date has been set. Until then, the shop is keeping decidedly un-sleepy hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The family-run California chain, which operates 44 stores, is advertising half off storewide across its locations Oct. 30–31 for Halloween weekend. It also promises to beat competitors’ advertised prices.

California voters legalized recreational marijuana for adults 21 and older by passing Proposition 64 in November 2016. Licensed recreational sales began Jan. 1, 2018, though cities retained control over whether to allow shops within their borders.

Off the Charts joins two competitors already planted on Wilshire. Local Cannabis Company, at 925 Wilshire Blvd., opened in June 2023, followed by Harvest of Santa Monica at 1418 Wilshire Blvd. in August 2024.
