Excuse me, I want to speak to the manager of baby names!
Karen — the moniker that has become synonymous with complainers and entitled white women — has fallen sharply out of favor in the past year. (Shocker!)
According to the Social Security Administration, Karen tumbled to number 831 on the name popularity list.

By the end of 2020, Karen occupied its lowest ranking since 1929. The name peaked in 1965 with 33,000 girls taking the name. Now, only 325 girls born last year have the combative moniker.
“Baby names are always a mirror of the times,” noted the website Baby Center last October.
These days have not presented favorable impressions of “Karens.”
There’s the Central Park Karen, who called police and lied about a Black birdwatcher assaulting her.
There’s the Soho Karen who falsely accused a Black boy (sensing a pattern?) of stealing her cellphone.
And then there’s a Karen actually named Karen who wouldn’t mask up in an Ohio grocery store.
The Baby Center also notes that while the name Karen may be down, other names are rising. The names Kobe and Gianna have more than doubled since the death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter early last year.
The name Kamala doubled as well, no doubt in recognition of Kamala Harris’ rise as the first female vice president.
Other countries have similar names that have acquired negative connotations. A poll of British parents found that Boris is the least desirable name for a boy, a dig at the UK’s Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Maybe he should complain to someone about it.
