
A swimmer has died after being pulled from the ocean near Santa Monica Pier on Wednesday night.
Lifeguards initially responded to a report of two swimmers in danger, but one was able to safely make it back to shore.
The other swimmer had to be pulled to safety.
Video footage from KCBS/KCAL shows paramedics attempting to resuscitate the victim.
Santa Monica Police told the station it was likely an accidental drowning.
The identities of the swimmers were not known at time of publication.
