Roger Waters won’t be accepting Mark Zuckerberg’s friend request.
The former Pink Floyd singer recently revealed that Facebook reached out to him for permission to use their classic “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2” for an Instagram ad.
Waters admitted it was a “huge, huge amount of money.”
His answer? “F— no. No f—-n’ way.”

Waters addressed the press at a pro-Julian Assange event. The British bassist has been a vocal supporter of Assange, the WikiLeaks founder jailed in the UK and fighting extradition to the U.S.
“I only mention that because this is an insidious movement of them to take over absolutely everything,” Waters said of Facebook’s massive online presence. “I will not be a party to this bullshit, Zuckerberg.”
Waters also read from Facebook’s offer letter, which said “Another Brick in the Wall” remains timeless and necessary today.
“And yet, they want to use it to make Facebook and Instagram more powerful than it already is,” the feisty septuagenarian fumed, “so that it can continue to censor all of us in this room and prevent this story about Julian Assange getting out into the general public so the general public can go, ‘What? No. No more.’”
Waters also zinged Zuckerberg, bringing up the oft-forgotten FaceMash. FaceMash was a Facebook predecessor website that Zuckerberg created at Harvard in 2003 to judge female students’ looks.
“How did this little prick who started out as ‘She’s pretty, we’ll give her a four out of five, she’s ugly, we’ll give her a four out of five,’ how did we give him any power?” he wondered. “And yet here he is, one of the most powerful idiots in the world.”
The opinionated Waters will get the final word on his estranged former bandmates as well. He’s working on a memoir about his Pink Floyd days.
