The Pantages Theatre, with a seating capacity of 2703, was originally designed for vaudeville performances. Originally opened in 1930, the Art Deco style venue is named after Alexander Pantages, a notable figure in the vaudeville circuit. With a seating capacity of about 2,703, it’s one of the largest theaters in Los Angeles. Over the past nine decades, it has hosted a wide array of performances, from stand up comedy and movies to Broadway shows and live concerts. The Pantages Theatre was home to the Academy Awards from 1950 – 1959.
