Some of the biggest music artists in the world — including Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Drake and BTS — may soon disappear from TikTok.
Universal Music is insisting the social media giant increase its royalty payout effective immediately, according to an open letter published Tuesday.
UMG believes TikTok is “trying to build a music-based business, without paying fair value for the music.”
In a statement to The Messenger. TikTok said, “It is sad and disappointing that Universal Music Group has put their own greed above the interests of their artists and songwriters.”
Time is ticking. The current contract expires today!
