Crypto.com Arena — forever known to many Angelenos as Staples Center — is one the the best-known sports and entertainment venues in the world. Situated in downtown Los Angeles, across the street from L.A. Live, the arena is home to the Los Angeles Lakers, Kings and Sparks.  It seats approximately 19,000 depending on the event.

The building opened on October 17, 1999 with a sold out performance by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. Since then it has become one of the busiest arenas in the world, hosting major concerts, championship games, award shows and nationally significant public events.

Among the venue’s most memorable events:

• The Democratic National Convention (2000)
• Multiple NBA All-Star Games (2004, 2011, 2018)
• The NHL All-Star Games (2002, 2017)
• Dozens of GRAMMY Awards ceremonies
• Michael Jackson’s public memorial service (July 7, 2009)
• Celebrations of Life for Nipsey Hussle (2019) and Kobe and Gianna Bryant (2020)

“The Crypt” has also built a remarkable concert legacy, with major performances by artists including Taylor Swift, Adele, U2, Prince and Paul McCartney.

The building was renamed Crypto.com Arena in December 2021.
