The iconic L.A. bakery closed all six of its locations on New Year's Eve.

Sweet Lady Jane may soon reopen its doors in Santa Monica.

The iconic L.A. bakery chain beloved by celebrities like Taylor Swift and Jennifer Aniston abruptly closed all six of its stores on New Year’s Eve, explaining on its website that “sales are not enough to continue doing business in the state of California.”

It was later revealed that owners of the business had been involved in a class action lawsuit with former employees.

Now it appears there may be yet another unexpected development.

On Saturday, the chain’s Instagram began teasing a possible return.  Then today came this message:  “Have you been craving a slice of Triple Berry Cake? Dark chocolate sea salt brownie? What about a curried chicken sandwich? Soup? Same here… We think it’s time for a reunion, don’t you?”

Restaurant blogger Toddrickallen noticed a note that appears to be recruiting new employees.  No further information — or confirmation — is available at this time.

The first Sweet Lady Jane bakery was opened in on Melrose Avenue in 1988 and immediately became a sensation thanks to items like the Triple Berry Cake.  Additional stores were opened in Santa Monica, Calabasas, Encino, Beverly Hills, Larchmont and West Hollywood.
